2 Terrorists Killed in Counter-Terror Operation in NW Pakistan

Two terrorists were killed in a counter-terror operation in Khyber district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the military said on Saturday night.

The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation late Friday night in the Bara area of the district on the reported presence of terrorists, the army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

“During the conduct of operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists,” resulting in the killing of two terrorists, the ISPR said.

The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as the killing of innocent citizens, it added.

The sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, according to the ISPR.
