Finland will send Ukraine military aid worth €28.8 million, bringing total contributions to €189.2 million and making it the eleventh package sent there since the start of the war, the defence ministry announced after it got the green light from the president and the government on Wednesday.
This decision to send military aid to Ukraine for the 11th time since the start of the war comes after Finland decided to send Ukraine aid worth €55 million in November.
”We will continue our support,” said Defence Minister Antti Kaikkonen, confirming Finland’s commitment to helping Ukraine in its defensive struggle, a ministry press release reads.
Though details regarding the packages have remained a well-kept secret since shipments to Ukraine began, anti-tank weapons, crew transport vehicles, assault rifles and ammunition are all believed to be on the list.
Meanwhile, Finland will continue to participate in the training of Ukrainian armed forces in the UK, allowing for the participation of about 20 Finnish instructors until the end of 2023.
