Indonesia’s position is the highest among other ASEAN countries. Under Indonesia, there is Vietnam in 19th position and Thailand (24th). While Singapore is in 29th position and Malaysia is in 42nd place.
In fact, Indonesia’s position is above Australia, which is perched in 16th position and North Korea (34th), as well as countries that are advanced in military terms, such as Germany, which is in 25th position. According to the GFP, Indonesia’s military strength is supported by financial strength which is in a position top 10.
Based on GFP records, Indonesia’s Purchasing Power Parity value is USD 3,130,470,000,000, placing 7th out of 145 countries. In addition, GFP also records the composition of human resources and the main weapons system (alutsista) owned by Indonesia.
According to GFP, Indonesia has 1,080,000 military personnel consisting of 40 thousand Air Force personnel, 300 thousand Army personnel and 75 thousand Navy personnel. For defense equipment, Indonesia is supported by 466 air forces consisting of 41 combat aircraft, 23 attack types, 67 transport aircraft, 126 training units, 17 special mission aircraft, 1 tanker aircraft, 176 helicopters and 15 attack helicopters.
While on land, according to GFP records, Indonesia has 314 tanks, 12,008 armored vehicles, 153 self-propelled artillery, 414 artillery towers, and 63 rocket projectors.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s sea power is strengthened by 324 defense equipment consisting of 10 frigates, 21 corvettes, 4 submarines, 202 patrol boats and 13 mine warfare. The top position is occupied by the United States (US) with a score of 0.0712. Followed by Russia (2), China (3), India (4), and England (5) to complete the top five strongest military positions in the world.
